Screen flickering in display with 8th gen Intel processor

Whenever I set brightness to less than 100%, the screen flickers intermittently. This issue is not because of some loose connection, as it doesn't flicker in 100% brightness.

I also narrowed it down as a driver issue, because the same happens in both the Windows 10 and Linux installations.

Another person in the forums also had the same issue. Link:

His panel is a 4K one, but mine is a 1080p. Mine has a GTX 1050 too, and the in-built display is directly connected to the the intel uhd graphics (I think). Model: MSI GL63 8RC.

Please help  me! DO I have to RMA the product and different one? Should I return this laptop and just get a regular non gaming laptop, because I'm about to start my masters degree in IT next month, and I don't want to be bothered with such issues during my thesis work, etc.

MSI GL63 8RC.

If I'm not mistaken, the panel used in this model has PWM flickering. Moreover you mentioned <100% brightness, which makes me believe more

It is not constant flickering. Just the occasional flicker, like few times a minute or sometimes once every few seconds or so. Always random flickering, never at constant time intervals.

If such is the problem, do I RMA it or do I just return the product and get a less powerful Acer Swift 3 with a Ryzen 5?

RMA

Ok. I'll try that, sending a video to their support, showing the flicker.
