What is AMD going to do with the traded-in CPUs? Burn them on a sacrificial alter?

Yup, a big FU to Intel.

If you were one of the qualified winners, would you do this deal?

Hmm..

I'd probably trade it in, sell the 1950X for 100-200 or so under retail(it'd be brand new in box I assume so a good deal for whoever buys)

Buy a regular 8086k from the store for 370.

?????

Wow. I'm liking this more aggressive marketing side of AMD :D. If anybody has a 8086K then this is what they should do with it.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

How to setup MSI Afterburner OSD | How to make your AMD Radeon GPU more efficient with Radeon Chill | (Probably) Why LMG Merch shipping to the EU is expensive

Oneplus 6 (Early 2023 to present) | HP Envy 15" x360 R7 5700U (Mid 2021 to present) | Steam Deck (Late 2022 to present)

Mid 2023 AlTech Desktop Refresh - AMD R7 5800X (Mid 2023), XFX Radeon RX 6700XT MBA (Mid 2021), MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon (Early 2018), 32GB DDR4-3200 (16GB x2) (Mid 2022

Noctua NH-D15 (Early 2021), Corsair MP510 1.92TB NVMe SSD (Mid 2020), beQuiet Pure Wings 2 140mm x2 & 120mm x1 (Mid 2023),

That's the kind of thing AMD needs to do more often. Basically, it is using a baseball bat after receiving a slap.

You have to agree this is better marketing than overclocking a 28 core CPU to 5 Ghz being cooled by a refrigerator unit and call it a product.

I didn't answer my own question, LOL.
I would definitely trade my 8086K in for a 1950X if I won one and had the chance.
AMD seems to care much more about their customers then Intel does. (Not saying they're angels)

No, they just mean the first 40 people to complete the exchange offer, not the first 40 people to win an 8086k.
