Canon SL2 (200D) or T6i (750D) or Nikon D3400?

This is going to be my first time getting a DSLR camera, and I'm kind of a beginner at photography, which camera should I get though?

The t6i is what I would get. A bit more advanced and easier to grow with. It also takes Canons EF lenses which you can always find for a good deal on the used market.

The sl2, I'd personally prefer the 800d, but it must be outside of your budget (although, you should really consider buying one used). However, the sl2 has all the capabiliies of the 750d, coupled with some newer stuff like the image processor, dual pixel AF capabilities etc. So, I'd go for the sl2 over the 750d.

I have the sl1. Bought it used as my first camera last year, although the sl2 was already out. I only paid about 280 with the kit lense vs. about 600 for the 200D. Yes the 200d is a bit better, but not double better. ;-)

Personally that is the route ( SL2 or sl1) I would go. Yes the bigger cameras are sometimes better, but the best camera is the one you will take with you and the sl1 and 2 are small enough for me to mostly do that.

If you don't care about size at all, by all means get a 750d or so.

Also consider used. I saved about 300 and bought a nice sigma 17-50/2.8 lense for that money. Then I sold the kit lense and with a little extra I got the 24mm pancake. The pancake with the SL1 or 2 is an amazing setup. So small.
