I5 8600k Bottlenecking my 1070ti

My two cents:

  • Your 8600k isn't bottlenecking your 1070ti.
    • I've got a 1700x and GTX1080 and my CPU isn't bottlenecking my performance
  • You should close or remove unnecessary programms
    • game booster don't work,
  • overclock your CPU if you're comfortable with it
    • You bought an unlocked cpu so you better use it otherwise you wasted money
  • At idle you shoud be around 1-10% CPU load otherwise something is wrong
    • with Chrome, Rainmeter, Word, Excel and Taskmanager I'm getting 3% of load.
    • run malewarebyte or roguekiller on your system even a fresh windows install can get maleware fast.
  • Why is "Desktop Window Manager" taking 10% of your load?
    • I don't even have that process running on my pc

Hope I helped Quote me if you want additional help

I Uninstalled game booster

I Will install malwarebyte and try if it fixes anything if not ill resort to a clean windows install

desktop window manager is a core proccess and shows me a warning when i try to close it

Uninstall the current one and get the one off the site.  If you didn't install it originally iy is possible windows 10 did, and that could have caused an issue.  If that doesn't work then reinstall windows.

You mean go to microsoft website and download windows from there

cant i just go to "Reset this pc" option in windows?

Depends on the cooler, your fan setup, cable clutter, and more.

i got the nzxt s340 elite case which comes with 2 fan cases and cooler master hyper 212x cpu cooler

It's not about it being new it could possibly be bugging out.  That's why I'm suggesting reinstalling the driver.

Considering it is a k CPU and you're using budget cooling ya I can see it hitting up to 50.

Yeah i just installed that chipset driver and i ran malwarebyte and i restarted pc and my cpu litterally booted to 100% usage in the first 10 secs with no apps open

Is it safe for me to overclock my cpu to 4.9ghz with my current cooler and idle temps

also silly question since ive never done overclocking before how do i do it

1) https://ninite.com go here and install what sw you need

2) Go to Nvidia's website to get your GPU driver, and go to the MSI website to get your other drivers.  For your keyboard/mouse/headset or whatever else go to the maker sites to get those drivers.  Don't use the disc drivers that come with the hw.

You can do a small OC on a 212, but I wouldn't try a big one like 4.8 or 4.9.  I'd get a D15, Dark Rock Pro 3 or 4, h105 or greater AIO from Corsair or an NZXT one, or if you really wanna go balls to the wall with it, not talking subzero cooling of any kind, get an EKWB kit or a custom loop.  But, that's if you wanna go that high.

Thank you man
