If the seller has good rating, you're fine. If they don't, I'd be skeptical. Use common sense and you should be fine.

Not a bad idea. Make sure you are getting a drive that isn't old because SSDs performance can decrease over time. Also eBay is quite safe and Samsung SSDs have a 5 year warranty so it's fine

If they have alot of reviews and they are good then I would say you should be fine. I would use paypal just as a safety net. There are alot of eBay sellers that make their business on selling used hardware that had been used by businesses or some other use and no longer need them. If there were alot of these that were used for testing then it is likely that they have alot of them and no longer need them so they are selling them to get some if the money back.

You're fine if you pay with Paypal. Paypal covers you if the product is defective, within a certain time frame.

I purchased most of my current PC on eBay, saved a ton of money.

Highly unlikely the warranty would be redeemable by him though. Most companies only warranty with a receipt.

If you really want to know about the history of the drives then get them to send you a picture of crystaldiskinfo, that'll show you what the drive has been through.

The seller could send him his receipt if he still has it. Also buying RAM from eBay should save you some money, considering today's prices.

Unlikely, they usually have addresses and names on them. It's not like a cash receipt, which are quite rare.

Most of the time single parts are pretty highly priced, and Reddit is a better place to go.
