BIOS set up to RAID 1 - no drives detected

fryzurra

Hi Everyone!

This is my first post on this forum - I hope I will find even some of the answers to my tech problems.

Sorry for some spelling mistakes as I am a foreigner.

I've bought 2 WD Black 500GB and wanted to set up RAID1 array. I have MSI 990XA-GD55 motherboard.

I set up RAID mode in the bios, restart, set up the RAID1 on the new drives and... that was the beggining of my problems.

My bios suddenly didn't see ANY drives in the bios setup (I had SSD, 2x WD blacks, 1x WD blue, 1xDVD - none of these were seen in the RAID mode).

I updated bios but It didn't change anything.

I decided to run system in SATA IDE mode - bios seemed to run ok in that mode.

Windows 7 detected new drives.

After about a week win boot up time got really extended. From time to time I also have another periodicaly boot up problems that involve:

- black screen after BIOS "beep" - no boot up

- win 7 boots but there are problems wit USB devices etc (no keyboard, no mouse detected).

My system:

- QuadCore AMD Phenom II X4 945

- MSI 990XA-GD55 (MS-7640)

- 8178 MB (DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM)

- MSI AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series

- OCZ-AGILITY3 ATA Device (SATA-III)

- 2x WDC WD5003AZEX-00K1GA0 ATA Device (500 GB

- ATAPI iHAS122 ATA Device (DVD+R9:8x

Thanks in advance for helping me with the RAID 1 problem or boot up... or both :)

Cheers!
