HDMI 2.0 For 240Hz

TipsyDriver

I just got my new monitor and apparently my GTX 1080 Ti doesn't support DP (I got "No Signal") my monitor is an Acer KG271B and my default HDMI cable only seems to be giving me 60Hz (probably because it's HDMI 1) I've been looking in my Nvidia Control panel and I'm currently connected to my Vive's HDMI because the Vive runs at 90Hz and I was hoping that would allow me to bump the refresh rate, I'm still apparently locked at 60Hz. I take it I'll need a HDMI 2.0 for 240Hz?

Looking at the monitor (Acer KG271B), it's only a 75hz monitor so no.

if it's hdmi 1,3 or newer it should work at 75 hertz, just try to use a custom refresh rate of 75 on the monitor

That would be the KG271 the KG271B is a 240Mhz screen.

The display has a HDMI 1.4 input so it can only do 120Hz with that, you'll need the DP for 240Hz

I do not have an Acer screen. But in the OSD you might have to put in that it uses DP 1.2 could be standard on 1.0

FYI thats a quirk with setting the resolution. As you can see that section is for HDTV's, you'll need to scroll down and select the PC resolutions. Those will have the higher refresh rates.

Hold up is it this one? https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/model/UM.HX1EE.B01 Dang I hate google sometimes.  Check your windows device settings, not the nvidia control panel and dp should work, it might have just been a driver issue or something.  If using the dp cable that came with the monitor doesn't work, then yes hdmi 2.0/1.4 should be fine.

The screenshot says it's the B model which isn't 240hz, so i think you bought the wrong monitor

Dp not working could be a software issue. If it doesnt work after trying a few things, rma the card because it should work with dp
