GOG picks up visual novels in the wake of the waifu holocaust

That isn't the case at all though, most if not all the games & VN's mentioned in the thread are safe for 13+ or whatever and allowed to stream on Twitch (except for Huniepop for example cuz ppl abused the rules with the 18+ patch). IMO if it's safe enough for Twitch it isn't anywhere close to being ''porn''.  Valve would be better off ditching Payal as a payment system and telling the lobbyist prudes to gtfo.

Just because it's only softcore porn doesn't mean it isn't still porn

Do I buy these type of 'games'? Definitely not. But I don't think people being interested in big eyed 2D Japanese p0rn is as big of an issue as the cancerous "if I don't like it, no one can have it" political shenanigans going on in US/UK. People are entitled to what they like as long as it doesn't involve stabbings and bombing random foreigners.

What about the narrow-eyed 2d japanese p0rn? Forgot about those too? ;)

Speaking of visual novels, a shame Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney never went to PC.

Well, Steam allows games like GTA V and Witcher 3 which also have smut in them.  I am failing to see much of a difference.

A magazine about cars featuring a woman in a bikini is not a magazine about women in bikinis.

The games that were warned were unironic softcore porn. The scantily clad cartoon women were basically the entire point. If you can't understand how this is different to The Witcher and GTA V you are being willfully ignorant

Haven't really looked into the content of these games. But it's great that we live in an open ecosystem like PC where different storefronts can compete for our custom (gog vs steam vs origin vs battlenet vs uplay etc...). Without that PC gaming would not be doing well today.

i get both sides, it's hard to have #metoo and the innocent looking teens with big boos. I never understood the fascination for this in Japan and never taught it was so popular in the rest of the world. I like anime but i tend to avoid the "bib boobs anime".

Good for GOG, everyone deserves their porn, even teen porn. :P

Thank you, you get it this Doki Doki Literature Club one I get it that it's an original story that goes your usual harem seeking adventure nonetheless I go to places like derpibooru (my little pony art website) discord and nobody talks about pony any more just monika that yuri that and so on and on... Don't get me wrong I watch some animes and all, and my favourite games are story driven single player campaigns but it totally feels exaggerated lately.

well it's not your normal VN, i won't spoil it for you but don't google about the story and spend a couple hours on it ;)

I'm also failing to see the issue here >_<

Look at Senran kagura: Beach Peach Splash, Sony is fine with it because it's also on the PS4, just so you know.

All girls are in bikini's, you can even change clothes.

But it's an arena shooter. So what do you think they should do?

Ban it? it's not a VN so that comparison doesn't work.

Main gameplay is arena shooter like UT and Quake, only with girls in bikini which isn't the main selling point. It's just a summer beach themed arena shooter.

It's impossible to draw a line without causing a gray area. Hyperdimension neptunia is another great example, that's a dungeon crawler (i think that's what it's called) with actual gameplay, leveling characters and managing inventory and equipment. And half of the characters are kids. So what should happen with that? Sony is fine with that too btw.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

So, out of curiosity, what did anime fans ever do to you two?  Did they shoot your dog or something?  You seem very vocal about hating them.

two bombs... not enough.
