What is a good Motherboard and CPU to go with a R9 290x?

What is a good Motherboard and CPU to go with a R9 290x?

The price range is around 175 - 250$ for the motherboard.
and the same for the CPU.

I can go with an ASUS Z87 pro and an i7 4770k.

But is there something cheaper that will do just as fine?

787 pro board is excellent and has a lot more features than the Hero.

I have a 4770k and a 280x with it and it is great.
