Is a 980ti a good choice in 2018 for 4K gaming?

SirDarknight

1070ti & 1080ti are way beyond my budget at this moment. A guy is selling his 980ti for around $300 in my country, 60FPS isn't my main concern. I just bought a 4K HDR TV and games look stunning on that, unfortunately my current GPU(R9 390) can't push even 20FPS in 4K. I just want a playable experience at High-medium settings.

Its equal to 1070 you can get it and play at 1440p with a constant 60 fps in most games or 4k if you turn some settings down but 300$ for a 980ti that's a good deal  right now i would get it

You should be able to play 4k 30fps at ultra, or 4k low at 60fps.

i would get it considering the jacked up and messed up state of the market now. it might not be the most perfect card [hint 1080ti] but you just need to compromise a few settings in and out. [also AA off since 4k is so detailed you don't need to smooth anything]. that should help
