Is 31.5'' good size for 2560x1440 ?

EOZ

Hi, LinusTechTips forum!

I'm looking for a new monitor budget is approximately ~350€. I'm not really sure if this monitor size per resolution will be good enough ?

It will be used for video editing, photoshop and slight gaming GTA 5, World of Tanks and maybe PUBG in future... So i'm probably need IPS screen with no overshoot ghosting 60-75hz refresh rate maybe someone can recommend some good screens there are many of them in market in this price point. Thanks!!!!!!!

It's not bad, but I personally would just shell out for a 3440x1440 panel instead.

3840x2160 @ 24 or 27"

4k where it at

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

It is for Windows scaling, as that is basically made for that DPI. But I'll have to say it will depend on how far you sit away from your screen.

Not exactly, In terms of dpi of course the 27" is better because its smaller. But at that point its a test of personal preference. I suggest going to see them in person if possible. If not those specific monitors then similar ones.

I have a 31.5 VA and LOVE it for gaming, but I would recommend 27 1440p if your looking to work more than play on it.

at 31.5" i would be looking at 4k because the estate allows 4k.

however i do not like 4k personally on 27", 1440p standard widescreen seems fine which is what i rock at the moment and is huge in front of me.

ultrawide is another option but due to it's niche sector it isn't always the most cheapest for a bit more resolution left to right.
