Want to cheat at PUBG, buy a Dell

At the Intel event held in Beijing, Dell single handily stole the entire show by claiming their gaming laptops is great at cheating PUBG because it can handle the most plugins.

Sally Xiao, Vice President, Consumer and small business marketing, who was the spokesperson for Dell during that event said

Wow."

Dell Australia responded back by stating

I don't think anyone is actually debating that, it's been totally overshadowed by the fact they used enhanced ability to cheat as a selling point.

 

But, if we do stop and think about it for a second, it only gets worse for them since their claim makes no sense.  There's nothing unique or special about running "plugins", and I'm sure there's nothing unique or special about their laptops either.  It's just computing loads, CPUs, and RAM.

We are talking about it,  it's doing the rounds faster than a bog stock press release and like all PR leveraging a controversial topic it has accelerated the reach of the message. All that's left is for people who looking to upgrade to decide if the claim has merit and is it applicable to their needs.

I edited in my thoughts on that as well above.  As I'm sure we all know, it just comes down to CPU power, RAM, etc. - the basic things that make up a computer.  It's not like Dell's got some special hardware accelerator for plugins.  This is totally stupid.  At the end of the day the best (most powerful) laptop will do it best, and unless they've got the best hardware, which I'm sure they don't, they have no claim to that title.

Cannot figure out what is cheating and morally wrong and what is not.

Your assuming most of the people they sell to know or care to learn about this.    It's all marketing and thus all talk for sales.   Using the "cheats better in pubg" line is the original clickbait tagline to get people interested.

I still say it was a bad PR move.  They've associated their brand with cheating so now anyone who doesn't want to be seen or thought of like that will avoid them.
