That actually might be useful for a few things assuming it still has a port.   Run it to a dongle and breakout a mouse, keyboard, and screen.   It’s not that far from a Mac mini, really.

On the adventure of my Samsung Odessy G7 monitor.. I got it back from rma today.. at 6pm (18.00) o clock.. so happy.

Now 3 hours later i notice this dead pixel in the panel.. What makes it worse is the shadows around it 😞

I cant escape problems on this monitor.. Im trying so hard to love it and it comes back with another problem.. No luck.

To make it more fun besides the black pixel in the green bar, there’s a stuck pixel (grey) at about 2 o’clock from it.

Found out its only a spot on the monitor.. Like ive laughed and saliva has.. yeah just spit or whatever.. Then i cleaned another spot and now i just discovered a gray dot not going away.. infact..

Many gray dots..

God i fucking i fucking hate this monitor..

Now counting 3 gray dots not going away.. Barely visible.. but under more light.. I see them..

Fuck samsung monitors i gues...

God the store is gonna love to see me going into their store tomorrow to send it for rma panel replacement..

FIFTH TIME RMA.

UNLESS ITS THE SAME BUG/ERROR/FAIL ON THE MONITOR 3 TIMES.. I CANT GET REFUND.

I KNOW, ITS A STUPID POLICY. Might even be illegal, gonna contact our local Consumer Council to see i should have gotten my money back already 😞

So if the jog button dies again, this being the third time.. Im egible for a refund.. But im starting to lose hope on this piece of shit.

Grey or white dots may be fixable. Those are stuck pixels rather than dead ones.  They can sometimes be brought back again with the use of specific software.  What it does is basically flash them on and off at the monitor’s refresh rate though so it both takes time and wears the monitor

I ran into an odd scene at a public park once: An older man who was a furry had a daughter who was a furry because her dad was.  It was hilarious watching the young men follow her around in costumes in a little line. She was the only female.  There’s a saying by women in the sciences “the odds are good but the goods are odd”. I suspect this also applies to furridom.

Had a walk with the dog and they dissapeared when i turned it on.. Just gone 30-40 minutes.. Im sure it will be back.

But i had a dead pixel in the top left corner.. And many others had it too from the review looks of it.. But after just 2-3 days of owning it, they dissapeared..

Hoping it stays gone now.

No more problems.. PLS SAMSUNG XD

Hopefully its solved.. *prays*

I'd recommend an MSI monitor when/if the Samsung finally gets refunded... had really good luck with my G24C I bought several years back, it's worked quite reliably. Not quite sure what their current lineup looks like but I recall thinking around when I bought it, "Wow, only $300 for a 1080p 144hz curved display? That's insane"

I found out, this is exactly what i paid for my first g-sync monitor for 300$ back in 2016. That monitor died just 2 days ago, so thats funny haha.

I'll have until the warehouse runs out or find another 250-300$ monitor thats 1080p/1440p with 144hz atleast. The G5 looks really tempting..

Even with all the shit im facing with my G7 now haha.

I'll have to look into MSI's and Lenovo, heard good things about lenovo too recently.

MSI doesn’t make panels, which is what this is about.  There are 5 or 6 companies that do iirc Samsung, LG, and a bunch of Chinese manufacturers whose names I do not know.  They might do quality control ON the panels though.
