Cheap way to get a static public ip

go to the site and take a look, theres a little downloadable tool which runs in the background and periodically checks what your public ip address is, and updates noip with the new value when it changes. so yourchoice.noip.com (or whatever address you end up with) always is up to date with your most recent dynamic ip.

So just for fun I wiped my old desktop give it a static ip locally forwarded ports for Minecraft, Terraria and Factorio servers but my public ip changes twice a day which is really annoying is there a cheap or easy way to make that static? :)

short answer, no, however you can use something like dynamic dns to give yourself a dns address (myname.ddns.net for example) which will update when your public ip changes (using a tool installed on your machine)

something like https://www.noip.com/free would be fine

they provide you with a domain name so you dont need to buy one, its a subdomain actually so would be something like EG.noip.com

Thanks will try it.

My ISP asks €250 for a static ip if this works that's a neat way to undermine their duopoly here.

i use it, my router actually has a built in client for a couple of them, so i have mine configured so my router actually updates it for me :) although my ip only changes when i change my router or turn it off for a long time.

My internet disconnects every day a little after noon and a little after midnight which is also when my public ip changes, no idea what the cause is.

Have you called your ISP's technical support line about this?

I'd suggest it's either a malfunctioning modem, or it's issues on their end (sounds more like their end, if it's consistently the same time every day).
