help me find a laptop!

alright so iv seen quite a few threads asking this question but have never found one with the specs that i want. i'm starting school in September and need a laptop. not much interested in gaming. i would like something that has a fast cpu, touch screen, full sized Ethernet jack, an ssd and either a lot of ram or the ability to be upgraded. i also don't want something that looks like a gamer's laptop. it should look more like a hp probook or a lenovo think pad. i would like mobile internet although its not necessary. i get a small discount at hp (13%) but if theres something cheeper from a differnt brand im open to ideas. budget is about 1700 CAN although its not set in stone

i was thinking about it but for what im going to school for needs a ethernet jack and i dint want to have to worry about having a dongle. id also like something that could be pluged in to a dock for a more desktop experience at home

Gigabyte Aero 14/15 series seem to be a good balance between portability, performance, and the ethernet jack, although I am not sure how it is priced in Canada.

Form what I've found so far, Thinkpads can fulfill your requirements.

 

P52s, T580, T480, X280, L480 (I suggest buy from Lenovo website)

 

All have good build quality and battery life. They have optional touchscreen (choose the config you want) and full sized Ethernet jack. I excluded options with mini Ethernet port because it needs dongle which need extra charges. RAM and SSD can be added after purchase if it doesn't void the warranty.
