Show off your old and retro computer parts

Still don't have it in me to set the abomination of a motherboard, the Jetway 994AN-L, on fire. So I'll just make do with replacing it with my Abit VP6-which can also use my post 2000 graphics cards (albeit at 2x AGP due to Nvidia's concerns about signalling strength-so the 4x AGP BIOS setting is pretty much useless).

hehehe lucky for me I have a Dual P3 1.4 system  Only has PCI though so currently have a TNT2 Pro 64MB in it.

That's what its like for my Abit VP6. 2x PIII 1000(and official support for the recalled PIII 1100 and 1133), with PCI only.

I actually have the Quadro version of the card, the 4500 x2. Too bad it doesn't work. It's missing a load of SMCs on the back, and I do have a donor 7950 GX2, but I cannot be bothered to fix it at the moment

ive considered picking up a 4500 x2. but they are expensive to ship to AU, and i'd be scared they will break on the way here.

Here is an Old Compaq Desktop Pro-station

It is a Pentium III 450+ with 64Mb of SDRAM and a 6.4Gb Hard drive.

This particular model was equipped with an ATI Rage 3D GPU with 8Mb of DDR(1) RAM

It was used in a business environment in an insurance company in the late 90s and donated to an employee during the "CPU speed war" on the early 2000s...

 

I is a shitty PC by today's standards but I can't seem to find a way to let it go

I was kind of sad when I finally recycled my Intel 386 and 486DX a couple of years ago and this is the oldest rig I have now (I think).

Notice the 90 degrees Motherboard setup with the proprietary slot.

 

If someone is into old machines and would like to make it run, I could donate it.

I might have to save that for a dramatic unveiling... but I can tell you it's a Pentium 4.

 

I'm planning a proper build log on this one. Got big plans: custom AT case mod, and hopefully period appropriate custom loop.

It's certainly seen better days, but here is my trusty old AT case which I bought for a dollar (plus shipping) from a guy in a case modding forum (pimprig.com) years ago.

I converted it to ATX, and some other mods, to house my Pentium 4 back in the day, and it's just about time to breathe some new life into it!
