Rebuilt a system in an old case for someone, PSU was at the front with bottom air intake and exhausted out the side through the panel via a vent. Weirder yet, PSU cable plugged into the back and used an extension with a right angle plug inside the case. You can't access the PSU main switch without pulling the side panel!

Beat me to it... But yes, keeping anything out of the e-waste bin is good. Especially when it's something unique like this. Fun fact, my HD 4870 x2 was bought at NCIX.

I wasn't the original buyer of the card in question, I was young when NCIX went out of business so not quite sure. All I know is the eBay listing for the card said it was bought at NCIX, and they showed the receipt.

I'm doing a lot of typing at the minute so i've dug the old MS Natural Ergo 4000 out the cupboard.  Just to give my damned wrists a rest.  I'll get some pics up once i've given it a clean off

With all the Trolls, Try Hards, Noobs and Weirdos around here you'd think i'd find SOMEWHERE to fit in!

Is it any good or does it just look good?

It was pretty good for 2003, but I wouldn’t use it in a modern system with a heavier reliance on 12v

This is going to be used in an era appropriate socket 462 system.

Thanks to my school it department (who had a legit copy of 98 SE) I’m finally able to use my Presario! The battery sort of holds a charge, 2 hour charge time gets you 20 mins of usage or so but I wouldn’t count on it. Sound and video don’t work as they should, it’s a Sound Blaster chip and ATI video so I don’t think they’re plug and play, luckily I found a restore disc for that series of Pc that may work.

Previous Components Still Using: GPU: MSI GTX 1070 (bought Used); Storage: WD 3TB Green HDD,WD 1TB Black HDD, SanDisk SSD PLUS 240GB

I'll never forget my first.  My 3.1 was atop DOS 6 with the .2 upgrade

I found this ebay seller:

Items for sale by robevi6371 | eBay

-this is not advertising, I am not associated with this person in any way-

They have a bunch of vintage laptops for sale, I'm considering buying some of the OK-condition Presarios to refurbish and resell. Seller seems to know nothing about them, and they're all listed as not working (but most likely all they would need is a new HDD.) Just thought this may help someone else. There's one in terrible condition but most are pretty well off. There's mostly Compaqs, there's a few Gateways and a ThinkPad.

i thought i needed to retrobrite it at first but it turns out a little of dishwashing soap, baking soda, a spray you use to clean washrooms and kitchens, and a scrub. if you need to retrobrite something without spending money ive seen people just put it out in the sun and it really makes a diffrence. 🙂
