Show off your old and retro computer parts

Thank you,

I sold most of my old parts, but the oldest parts I've had (after learning about tech stuff) are these:

CPU: Pentium E5300... I was actually desperate to upgrade to a C2D e8500 at one point. xD

Motherboard: Intel DG35EC

RAM: I had a lot of different RAM sticks, even had a GB of Nvidia's SLI-ready RAM at one point. I ended up having 4x2GB of some random DDR2 sticks.

GPU: 9500 GT, then I upgraded to a GT 440... it was quite a good upgrade for some games, although the CPU bottleneck became much clearer in others.

PSU: I had an old Logisys 550w

Previously Trogdor8freebird

5800x | Asus x570 Pro Wifi (barely enough for 64GB apparently given it's 2133 and still crashes sometimes) | 64GB DDR4 | 3070 Ti 8GB | Love that whole weeb shit

Hey, @Tr3vor, here's that old laptop with the 7MHz Intel CPU, a whopping 640KB of RAM, a 20MB HDD, and a 720KB floppy drive. But like I said, the display ribbon cable is torn. :(

Wow. Thats it ladies and gents, we have been defeated.

For your enjoyment I dug up this beautiful IMB HDD:

post-53274-0-61032600-1408035584_thumb.j

And a 100MHz Pentium with cooler (yes, it had a little fan):

post-53274-0-50866300-1408035638_thumb.j

I also have an AMD Duron laying around, anyone remember those things?

I think I had to replace a Duron with a Sempron since th Duron died. :( Not entirely sure though.

Finally took apart the Seagate I mentioned earlier and took some photos, The Perfect mirror finish of the disk made for a very interesting subject with a lot of opportunities. Again some links for higher resolution.

Could I grab that pic for a phone wallpaper?

So, signatures are a thing. How does one do them? Is this right?

Absolutely. You should be able to download it from Flickr, or if you tell me what resolution you're using I can post a direct link.

I got this when I dismantled an old craptop recently.  It's an AMD Turion @ 2Ghz.
The die itself is pretty small but it is much more shiny than any other processor I have worked with.

  • 1 month later...

Epic Necro!

I was allowed to dig around my instructor's desk for some PC parts we can put in to a couple of PCs that we were repairing... I found these in an old ECS motherboard box

I couldn't identify all the parts off the top of my head and I think some of them are older than me...

NECRO!!! My ATI Radeon X1650 Pro is still looking for a home, sadly. :( But now it's all cleaned up and has fresh thermal paste for when the time comes.
