Same thing happened to me too on Edge. It was working perfectly a few days ago, even yesterday I think. I can access the web client no issues without the extension on firefox.

Had to work overtime today so I made the effort to come home on my dinner break and restart my slots folding after "finishing" them at the start of the expensive Time-of-use electricity rates this morning.

When I returned home this evening it was to 7/8 slots stuck: Waiting on "WS Assignment" Rebooted the stuck systems but still no joy.

All the stuck slots are all getting sent to WS 54.157.202.86 mskcc1.foldingathome.org

 

I've reported the issue over on the official support forum.

 

Not what I wanted after working a 15 hour day and adding insult to injury work pushed a windows update to my prime work laptop so I had to sit around at work waiting for 15 minutes for it to shutdown gracefully.

 

Grrr.

The fix was to change my Client Preference from "COVID" to "Any" and reboot. 7/8 slots now on other servers but one assigned to WS 54.157.202.86 mskcc1.foldingathome.org and still stuck waiting

Is anyone finding a massive lack in work units?   The very second that I post this on the forum my graphics card boots into gear.

One of the servers at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center dishing out COVID WUs appears to be stuck and if you have your preferences set to "COVID" you will get assigned ONLY to this server which will not, however, send any WUs.

 

The solution is to reset your Preference to "Any" and reboot.

I'm not giving up on my dream of wasting energy by using older cards getting 1 billion points on only Kepler cards.

 

Though I have noticed something odd. If I leave my computer doing nothing but Folding and BOINCing for more than 12 hours or so, it locks up and I have to reboot it.

An easy way around it is to stop my GTX 690 from Folding and then start it again (turning off my 650 Ti BOOST causes the system to freeze) but I haven't been able to figure out why this is happening.

Has anyone else noticed this behavior? BOINC is using 8 of 12 threads.

have you updated the drivers recently? maybe Nvidia's EOL for these cards is screwing you over?

Nope, still not seeing any but I have noticed a 10-15% uptick in PPD but still 10-15% lower than when the moonshots were running. I suspect that it's a combination of they've just finally finished pre COVID projects that were paused and likely weren't built with the new optimized CUDA libraries and that there were a lot of small atom WUs and/or ones with lower than normal PPD that made it through Beta without being flagged.

 

It's seeming that the COVID WUs are likely gone for good. Post Era seems to indicate they are ready to go to Human Trials for the COVID Anti-Viral which is exciting news.

I don't know why you are not getting them but I'm getting a lot of P13456 which is a Covid project.

You are correct. WUs 13456 and 13457 appear to be in production and are both COVID but I can find no record of either project in Beta or being put into Production  at the Support Site.

 

Even more curiously the PostEra Moonshot page does not yet show a new Moonshot but the Folding at Home main page shows that Sprint 10 (what happened to 8 & 9, the last I remember was 7???) started Monday, July 26th but I know I've checked this recently and did not see it.

 

Are you on Beta? I'm not currently.

 

What is your Preference set to? I was on "COVID" but changed to "Any" a week or so ago due to issues with the server at the Chodera Lab not handing out WUs.

Thanks - I'll change my preference back to COVID. The only reference to 13456 I found was on the support forum dealing with issues it's been having with 3000-series cards and the OpenMM build it uses

Thanks - I've reset my Preference to "COVID" and I'll do a restart at 19:00 EST when I resume Folding (I "Finish" at 05:30 and "Un-Pause" at 19:00 to avoid the high electricity rates and over-taxing the Air Conditioning).

 

Likely a good time to update my NVidia drivers as well.
