is anybody on here folding with the beta/advanced flag? is there any change in WU's or shortages?

I turned on beta, it got me some work units but I am at less than half of normal now.

Looks like some of the lost points have turned up. Also looks like there is a shortage of covid WU's I'm getting cancer and alzheime WU's.

Yes, there has been a supply issue with WUs and issues with one of the servers running out of disk space. It appears that the issues may be resolved now, at least in the short term but as all my GPUs are "Finished" currently during the "On Peak" Electricity rates here I can't confirm this until 19:00 EST when they'll "Un Pause" and resume folding.

Yeah it looks like in addition to the Download bug points for WUs are not being awarded.

Though I’m seeing a constant flow of WUs now and no failures I’m seeing points awarded lower than they should be so it appears some of the Collection servers are backed up again.

I’m sure we’ll see a correction … eventually.

Oh, so me continually waiting for WUs to download isn't just me?
That's good to know. I was worried that something was wrong... again.

Currently only 1 GPU is getting a WU, and occasionally not even that.

IDK - I seem to have been getting a steady stream of WUs since I restarted folding at ~ 19:30 EST yesterday. I reverted back to Normal from Client-Type Beta as the Beta WUs were much lower performing. - Have you tried a reboot or restart of the Folding Client?

Still no Failures.

Note the dip down to 17.4MPPD in the last couple of hours. It appears there are some new WUs (17804?) out that also are a bit low in points awarded.

So it is targeted to be 116 degrees Fahrenheit today, normal is closer to 75 degrees here in Portland Oregon. On the local power grid they are already claiming that it is likely to have rolling black outs. I don't need a melty failure so I guess I shut down for a day or two. Good luck everyone.

Numbers, got to push those numbers up haha. My "aim" is just loads of units all working just not latest generation. Don't think there is a small WU option.

Luck and availability of COVID WUs.

It appears the latest COVID Moonshot is almost completed which is good news.

LTT_Team_June2021.png.99c7ec659f63dab49e897262a50bc06d.png

While we see a general decline in participation in Folding@Home coinciding with delivery of vaccinations we have to remember that though the first world countries are approaching "Herd Immunity" the third world is far behind and eliminating this threat will require a Global response.

What Folding@Home is working on is the groundwork for developing an AntiViral Drug to eliminate COVID rather than a Vaccine targeted at the latest Variants requiring boosters as new Variants emerge and the immune response wanes. Such a drug would be Open Source and available as a pill and not require special storage and could be the "Magic Bullet" for elimination of COVID and other SARS,

Here is an interesting read on the Moonshot in Nature.

Quote

... these molecules will be straightforward to synthesize and will work as pills that are suitable for vaccine-hesitant or immunocompromised individuals, health-care workers and others in risky situations who could take them prophylactically. Furthermore, we expect them to work against vaccine-resistant variants: whereas vaccines target the spike protein on the virus capsule, our compounds target a conserved part of the virus machinery that works inside cells.
