Update on my FAHClient problems: It seems that my installer was just corrupted. I deleted mine, redownloaded a new one, and installed and now F@H works fine.

 

Also, I haven't been able to run F@H on my GTX 692 as I'm currently cooling it by pointing a desk fan at the side of the card. When I did test it out for about 20 minutes it seemed that the dies settled in at 200K PPD each, for 400K PPD total. With my GTX 650 Ti BOOST contributing 100K, I'll have 500K PPD once my replacement fan comes. Which looks like it'll be soon - it arrived in my state today! Should be here next week, around Tuesday.

I'm the guy on LARS GPU PPD database with the RX 6900 XT.  Its stock right out of the box.  Win 10.  21.3.1 driver.

awesome, i'm usually running only a single 2080Ti, but when events come around i spool up my 6900XT aswell. beast of a GPU!

I feel like an idiot at the moment, but could someone help me with BOINC? I'm currently folding with my main rig but since my secondary R9 280 computer keeps dropping out of folding, I figured I might as well sign it up for BOINC.

 

I wanted to run the GPU on PrimeGrid like during the Pentathlon but when I hit update, it just sits there and doesn't download anything to work on.  Thoughts? I set it up to download 1 day's worth of work but currently zero.

I don't normally share things like this because it always seems like bragging or something, but all of your collective positivity over the past year that I have been part of the group has really helped me so...

 

I am a medical physicist. Our job is to perform quality assurance on linear accelerators used for radiation cancer treatments, generate said treatment plans, and provide technical assistance in the treating of the patients receiving those treatments. My training included going to grad school for my master's degree (after leaving my high school teaching position of 10 years), followed by a 2-year residency, and a 3 part board exam process culminating in a 3+ hour oral exam. In the midst of all that, my wife and I moved three times, bought our first house, had two daughters, and braved a global pandemic.

 

I am happy to say that I recently found out that I passed my oral exam on the first try and am now officially a Diplomat of the American Board of Radiology (DABR).

 

As I said before, thank you all for your positivity and comradery over the past year. Without knowing it, you all offered me a respite from things and helped me maintain some semblance or sanity. I'm happy to call you all friends.

So, my K|ngp|n 3090 is like... Not putting up the numbers I think it should for folding. I am on temp tubes and power while parts ship, but it's not out performing the two 2080s (not ti not supper) that I am replacing with it. I am getting barely 1m ppd more, the 3090fe is putting up better numbers. The clock is tuned well, the power is good, it's not over heating, it benches great but like f@h is either not giving it work loads or something else is funky.

 

Kind of depressing I thought it was going to be a big jump in something other than price.

Not sure if there have been improvements on F@h side but when the 30 series released there was talk that they were just too much card, work units weren't big enough to fully use that many CUDA cores.

You might just be getting WUs with small atom counts.  You need to compare the   2080ti and 3090 on the same WU to get a valid comparison.

Is there anyone the folds on Unraid? I'm having a hard time getting both GPUs to be used. I can get it to work fine with one or the other. I've tried separating the UUIDs with commas and semi colons, a space no space and no luck

is there a way to get/request matching WU's to check this? I am doing some 40ish work units per day. I have let the kingpin run for 2 solid days now, and the work average is slightly lower than the pair of 2080 (not TI) were putting up. It just doesn't look "correct" or like I have something misconfigured. The "load" is high but the work unit count and PPD is like I didn't change anything. I guess I will let it sit a week and then do a comparison to past weeks.

Take a look at the LAR database for 3090s running similar WUs.

 

The more accurate comparison is to install HFM.net and run your 2080ti and other 3090 and look at similar WUs.

I do, but with a card passed through to a windows VM. I don’t have any experience with the docker container that I presume you are using.

Well, i run it on Proxmox, that also is KVM based virtualisation and that works perfectly so

I'm going to mess with it a bit more this morning before I just give up on the docker and go to a VM

Got it to work in the docker! 

For anyone curious, the WebUI won't work in Opera. Didn't seem to want to work in IE either. Simply switching to Edge got them all going for me.
