i7 4770k for 248.39

Just did a price match through Staples

Copied from my Slickdeals post about it

Alright guys, I did a price check via Staples AND I also got 20 bucks off using the Staples 20 off of 100+ coupon.

It ended up being 230 + tax for ~248 for my 4770k.

Here's the pastebin of my Staples Live Chat: http://pastebin.com/nzG0Epxf

TL;DR

Staples 4770k: http://www.staples.com/Intel-Core-i7-Quad-Core-i7-4770K-35-GHz-Desktop-Processor-Socket/product_IM1QX8539

- Give them the Item number (IM1QX8539)

MC 4770k: http://www.microcenter.com/product/413248/Core_i7_4770K_35GHz_Socket_LGA_1150_Boxed_Processor

- Give them the overview stuff (UPC, MFR Part #, SKU)

When you get the price check confirmed via Live Chat, add the 4770k (THAT ONE I HAVE SPECIFICALLY LINKED FROM STAPLES, THERE IS ANOTHER ONE THEY DO NOT PRICE CHECK THAT LOOKS IDENTICAL).

When the 4770k is in your cart, use this coupon for 20 dollars off. Link: http://www.retailmenot.com/view/staples.com?c=5364155

It will open a new window/tab. Redeem the code and add it for an additional 20 off the 249.99 price checked.

Pay for it then tell the same representative you price matched OR another one your order number to get the total before tax to be 229.99.

Final price (for me): http://i.imgur.com/huluGPs.png

Ya so just price matched too. Know that their live support closes sometime and to open live suppoort right above the price is a button.

Nice man. Worked for some people when the 4770k was 199 at Microcenter as well. Just checked my email from them and they also have a AMD 8350 for 149.99 and fx 6300 for 89.99. No idea if Staples carries those as well. MC also gives 30 bucks off the motherboard when you buy them in a combo, don't know if Staples has the same boards or if they would match that as well. Would be pretty damn nice though. :)

I would contact staples live chat (If the button isn't above the price then they ARE NOT online) They seemed really nice and did a nice job. Just remember be nice say please, thank you and try with different agents and some places let you contact a manager which sometimes will give you better luck.

Same. I got the dirt cheap Z87-G41 with it. Was 280 with tax. Felt like I was stealing when it clocked to 4.5ghz with render temps at 70 on a evo push/pull. Friend wasn't so lucky. He got a more expensive board and his chip wants 1.24 volts for 4.2 with 1.9 VCCIN for just 3900 cache.

Batches weren't that far apart either. Mine is 3313B775, his is close. Both Costa Rica's. Damned Haswell :(. Biggest silicon lottery ever. Board don't matter, all that matters is the dumb chip. He is contemplating how to wreck it and get a new one from Intel with the OC plan atm. He can't even boot 4.3 at like 1.3v. I have seen the horror stories, but that is pretty bad. When a new chip on a expensive motherboard is  getting it's butt kicked by an old Sandy Bridge on air? Intel should let you exchange your chip.

Mine runs almost identical to yours. It is at 4.5 with an H100i. Same temps. And regardless of if you overclock or not that deal was a steal.

Yup. Even if this was at stock it is a steal. You don't even need to OC a 4770k in "next gen" games. 8 threads and 2.5ghz on a 4770k = an AMD 8350.

Maybe the new hotness on 4770k and next gen will be seeing how low a voltage we can use to max out our video cards.  We can brag about 40 C primes. :)

I actually built my friend a computer with a 8350 and ti be honest it was pretty good. I would take that over an i5. BBUUUUUTTTTTTT the i7 for 200$ made me cry with joy.
