CyberPower CP1500AVRLCD vs APC BR1500G

KirbyTech

I am looking at these two models, I am not sure what one is a better buy. The APC is a refurbished unit with new batteries, the Cyber Power is brand new. I will be using these for a switch and a server. Which one is a better buy?

I looked that model up and the cost difference would be $70 so unless the ones I said will not work at all, I'm not going to spend $70 extra for what?

You get stepped sine output with either of the two models you posted.

You get a pure sine wave with the one posted by Wonkeyesyes there.

Most devices are fine with stepped sine, but some aren't. But it's up to your budget.

I would personally go for the new cyberpower out of the two you mentioned. I can't trust refurbished UPS units too much.

Nothing wrong with refurb units. I have a bunch of refurb stuff in my office. Got a Dell R710 cluster and a R610 cluster too that are all refurb or used units. I couldn't afford to buy the same power new. Would be an order of magnitude greater cost. If you buy refurb stuff from the right places that have good reviews then you are pretty safe. Only ever had a used item go bad and that was partially my fault.

Hi, I would buy new. Also, I have the CP1500AVRLCD connected to my gaming pc and a switch. Works fine.

I went with the APC because it is a model that allows add on battery packs which I found to be cheap ~$150 so I will be picking two of those up soon to give me longer run time.

I have no problem with refurb stuff myself, but I avoid it for power supplies, UPS units, and hard drives.

The APC unit should be fine though.

The unit comes with a 3 year warranty and the company is a good semi local one that has been around since '99
