Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Ok so I was scrubbing the rust off the brakes with the brakes and getting the rotors up around 300F to rebed the pads but still ? RIP clean wheels. I'll keep taking shots of the dirt progression lol.

Considering I had the suspension before I had the car I can finally say I got it installed.  Hoping it will settle another little bit but I'm happy with it.

Decided to blow some money and try a projector retrofit on my Jeep. Unfortunately I don't have any before pictures but the difference was well worth the money and hours I put into it. I live in the middle of nowhere and deer nearly outnumber the mosquitoes, so the new headlights are a huge help.

Had them in about a month and have had 0 people flash me :)

Looks like the previous owner may have hit something on the drivers side at one point. As you can see the bumper is pressed in and the bottom of the headlight assembly was cracked. Luckily I got a new(used) assembly off the FB marketplace for free.

We'll see how the pure white (6500k) bulbs perform once our average of 300"-350" of snow hits this winter. Might step down to a warmer color, or put a warmer color in my fogs.

Since then I've also converted my girlfriend's civic as well which has earned me some serious brownie points ;)

I've had the fortune of getting laser surgery for my eyes. It's an absolute godsend, but now every car headlights look 10x brighter.  Its fucking (sorry for language) driving at night because I'm almost blinded by them.

Bonus is I don't need to worry about high beams.

As someone who has been fortunate enough to have 20/20 vision, laser eye surgery scares the shit out of me.

Have you tried any nighttime driving glasses? I've never tried them myself but from what I've read they either help a ton or don't work at all.

I was just short sighted so its easy 20 minutes under a laser and some forceps. Now I have above 20/20 (or so they say at the optician).

Might look into the glasses tbh. It does get quite annoying. thanks.

I have glasses. I am terrified of laser eye surgery as well. An eye is not replaceable if it goes wrong. I like to drive. I like my eyes.

I'll just wear glasses. If it gets to a point where im basically blind anyway, then sure, I'll try it. Till then... I'm good.

I'm going to guess this has been done here a lot of times, but has anybody ever gone on autozone.com etc, look up Radiators, Reservoirs, Pumps, and Plumbing for a cars cooling system and compared it with a PC.  Yes i know 'Economies of scale' and all but holy poo i feel validated again for thinking Custom loop PC is pricy AF.  I can fix most family sedans engine cooling for the same price i can get a out-of-box custom loop from EKWB

I agree. Corrosion isn’t a big problem here tho.

i liked my corolla more than this civic. It was just better. The civic seems a little nicer in that it has more fancy stuff (like the A/C controls are all electric) but tbh I don’t really care

at least I could get the ecu out without taking the dash out though. That’s a nice plus that the corolla didn’t have... not that I needed to ever do it on that car.

Okay so one big thing for the Civic over the Mazda is it had good old-school steering feedback that somehow the Mazda misses, but ignoring the engine (the Mazda has 150hp yet feels like a "hot cam", very fun), the Civic just had a weird sort of understeer that i couldn't imagine easily correcting, one that never felt very effected by weight transfer, almost like just static level of understeer sort of like you'd usually get out of a much more mundane family sedan. not so much that the spring-rates or swaybars were wrong but that its suspension geometry itself was likely just watered down.  I thought though that the platform was shared with the RSX of same era to some degree, so obviously there is potential there, and its not like i ever really got to upgrade it or anything.

Still, the Civic of that era really is economical and surprisingly comfy, with some work it probably could become more then just a nice daily, and even if its just that its nice looking and gets the job done well.

Of course, my luck. Honda announces that they are giving sport touring hatchbacks manual transmissions for 2020, not even 6 months after I got my 19. If they give it a HP bump with an Si turbo I might actually pursue a trade in.

I just tried out The Chemical Guys Wrap Detailer. After one application it made a difference in how my car's vinyl wrap looks after damage from a 5,200 mile/8368 km round trip a couple of months ago, including a dust storm in New Mexico.

Impressive. Is it just a filler or does it actually polish out the scratches and marring?

Those look great, I wish lime green was available on more cars.

I also love the orange on the Crosstrek, I wish it was on a sedan/hatchback that Subaru made.

Lime green is like my favorite color ... when i get a car that i want to paint .. its 99% gonna end up lime green

Absolutely hard to tell that it's green unless you're in correct lighting conditions.

Alchemy Purple is also a great but subtle color.
