Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

WHY DO I WANT AN IS300 SPORTCROSS

I'm so glad that literally no one in the world bought one, because it'd mean I'd try to search for one.

cause it is a really nice and quite rare car?

ngl i want one myself ... but if i got one it probably would be the 2.0l i6 that we got over here

I started and finished cleaning my passenger side wheels, going to dress the tires and put a coat of Rejex on the wheels to maybe keep the brake dust from sticking so badly. I used the Meguiars Ultimate wheel cleaner and I'll be darned if it didn't work really well and really easily, way better than the Hot Rims I've used before.

@warmmilk

Backstory is he was ready to do a big engine upgrade but to stay with an EJ would mean doing dry sump to be competitive. Shopping around with the money he wanted something that revved high, shot flames, and could still retain the AWD.

Does anybody know how to take a stuck CV axle out? My driver's side one won't budge no matter what we try.

as long as its a 2.0 turbo or a 2.3 turbo it should be good ... 2.3T Aero being the preferred option

thats not the issue ... the 3.0 V6 just cant make any power ....
a 2.0t with a turbo upgrade and a tune can make more power ...

Get a cv axle tool. They look like this.

Makes it A TON easier. At least it helped a ton on my corolla when I had it.

Thanks, but we got it out eventually. The guides I found on taking them out said that a bit of diff fluid would leak out, but there was way more than just "a bit". It looked more like I had pulled out the oil drain plug for a few seconds, and it had soaked completely through one of my moving blankets...

yeah.. different cars will leak different amounts. My old corolla didn't leak anything at all. I was actually surprised.

Well on todays fun agenda it's refinishing a wheel center cap that had lost it's red painted ring. I'll take a shot of it next to an original in decent condition when it's done speed drying in the oven.

Also, using a convection toaster oven for drying small painted items is awesome. Set it to about 150 for an hour and the paint will be fully dried and super glossy which is very important when shooting rattlecan candy finishes on chromed plastic parts. I just wish I had a steadier hand for masking, I'd love to do the Toyota logo in the same candy red but I know I can't hack it to cut that out with the masking tape I have.

Is there some kind of better tape for cutting out small details when painting things?

Some pics from yesterday's Low Car Limbo, there were tons of people who climbed onto some of the cars to try and compress the suspension and it was pretty funny.

This Eclipse actually had stock suspension, and had at least 15 people piled onto it by the end of the event.

The Suzuki Cappuccino could have won easily, but it was this Miata that won in the end.
