Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Now we need low latency too. Ugh data busses can be so annoying on GM cars....

Don't deal with those too much. 90% of the time when you have a CAN bus issue on Honda its a VSA modulator screwing things up. Also, that Passport ended up being fixed by a 2nd keyless access control module. The first one they sent was a pilot module.

Got a good deal on the snap on truck today. 140 bux for a 300 dollar drill bit set. Decided I needed a proper set after I had a transmission pan bolt break on a old chevy.

fair enough, but i'm not a big fan of the oem body kit on the r33 gst-t. I would have to just swap it to look more like the r34.

Its also lacking pretty hard a lot of the tech in the newer cars that make daily driving a joy. Kinda looking for a car that I daily and can work on, as opposed to have to work on.

That's definitely fair, both the R32 and R33 are legal now stateside, if you're looking for something a bit newer a Saab 9-2X is a solid cheaper option, (Basically an 05 wrx with a better front end, some interior revisions, and some STI parts) or you could get a newer 335I for your price range. Yeah the 335i was on my list for a long while, but finding one well taken care of in my area and low mileage is a pain. They almost exclusively went to a very particular type of person where I live and the examples of them on the market are in really poor shape most of the time.

So the power brakes and power steering went out on my truck the other day. Had no idea what the cause was, since steering and brakes aren't usually connected. But, since diesels don't make vacuum, they usually use a vacuum pump to keep power brakes. Little did I know the vacuum pump on Cummins trucks is integrated into the power steering pump. Shoulda figured as much.

My daily driver is a 2004 Lexus LS430 Ultra Luxury and it is about to hit 220k! I would probably be car shopping if it was another vehicle but Lexus/Toyotas will run forever. The LS line is known for their high mileage ability. Maybe you have heard of the million mile Lexus? It is an LS400, not 430 but the 430 is also known for its reliability.

Mine is pretty much the same as the one in the video except I have the cream interior and not the thing that brakes if something runs out in front of you but it does have laser cruise and all the other neat tricks he shows off in the video. Mine is black as well.

I still don't understand why they do this. there's no way you need that much brake assistance

My DREAM daily is an LS430, all black with air suspension and Weds Kranze Bazreia wheels.

Unfortunately they are a rarity around and cost a lot due to that.

I'm planning on buying an LS400 however, they're not so rare and generally the owners take a lot of care with them.

I'll still have my Weds, air suspension and perhaps an Amistad/Aimgain body kit as well.

I'm currently driving a '14 Cayman with about 75.000 km (~ 45.000 miles), but I'm planning to sell it soon since depreciation at around 100.000 km will likely be quite substantial.

any car is hard to stop without assistance tbh you really have to mash it hard. helps to put your seat a little close though so you can get a bit more leverage
