Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

well maybe if it can heal naturally maybe you could get it to work properly again. or worst case scenario, just use hand controls for clutch.

Your plan isn’t horrible at all tho... I don’t think it’ll cost you much over what the 2.5 swap will cost you in the first place.

In fact I think it’s a genius idea...

yeah, if the swap works out with the new car, I'll end up making a profit once I sell my current car... if it doesn't work out then I might lose a little money, overall it shouldn't be bad... if for some reason nobody wants to buy my old car, I might turn it into a rallyx car (the offroad autox, not hardcore rally cross like tanner foust does)

Well, first i need to pass a few health requirements to get a new lisence that is restricted to automatic transmissions only.

Id prefer a h pattern dogbox tho :P

The depression is very very real at the moment...

oh I didn't realize that was you... hang in there man, DCT's tranny's can still be fun, or even a sequential shifted dog box if you wanna go hardcore... still plenty of fun to have in a car even without a clutch pedal

what kinda requirements do you have to pass to get an auto trans license?

I need enough leg movement to be able to brake with my right foot, so i should really be good to go when i can start walking without crutches.

Maybe some of ya chaps here got some experience on this.

Switching out the muffler tip and exhaust pipe.  Any tips for someone who never done a swap out of said parts?

Looking to take the stock exhaust off my Tacoma.  Then proceed to do a muffler switch out on my Suzuki S40 too(its stock muffler is crappy - kicking around the idea too of getting an after market performance carburetor for it).  The motorcycle probably be the easiest, but I don't have a lot of experience with putting after market parts on a truck.

Tbh, i see the "slight" inconvenience to that type of transmission and the noise from the straight cut gears but id definitely swallow that to keep driving what i want.

I readjusted the miata's clutch yesterday afternoon.

tightened the little arm till it touched the back of the plunger, then backed it off enough so it had some freeplay.

Now literally as soon as I step on the clutch pedal, the clutch disengages. I used to have to push it all the way in... But sometimes it would feel like it wasn't fully disengaged.

now I don't know if there's something wrong with the clutch or if I just messed it up lol. Maybe I should back it off some more? But then there will be too much freeplay like there was before...

Driving it this morning was a bit weird. Not used to having to let the clutch pedal 80% of the way out before it starts to grab.

Frothe looks like a great product but AMMO is quite premium. Definitely do your research if waterless is something that interests you.

id tell them to put you on the wait-list. so you can be sure you get them when they come back in stock. Must be popular...

But it sounds like they are drop-shipped from Koni themselves. so they must be having issues

yeah It's just that i dont think it's supposed to be like that. Miata's normally release near the floor.

But at the same time I want it to actually release when pressed to the floor, and not have an insane amount of freeplay in the pedal before it does anything.

I may need to lower the pedal height... you can do that too. just have to re-adjust afterwards.
