Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

God. Damn.

You're not allowed to post pornographic material here.

Oh yeah? We'll see about that.

I would have to move the trunk 'carpet', and remove a bunch of electronics and plastic. All in order to reach the rear top mounts for the shocks.

Now, you CAN get around the part of having to remove the electronics and plastic... by simply cutting a hole/breaking off the plastic so that you can get to the bolt/nut... Which I probably will do if I ever have to replace my shocks.

Yeah I'd rather not having to deal with that. :P

Alright, so instead of looking at lights I need to look at replacement springs for my car. What do you guys think, just go for normal OEM ones?

Rear springs for an E46, for those wondering. And I will probably replace them myself :)

I have heard the H&R sport springs are fairly good. You have a e46 coupe or sedan?

Were those wheels on your car just RS wheels?

Yeah, RS 6 spokes.  My car isn't an RS so it didn't come with them.  I bought them with brand new tires for cheap (basically the same price as just tires).

I do, but I don't exactly have anything to siphon oil out of the hole..

I drive a 2011 F-150 EcoBoost.

Those engines are gonna make ticking noises. GDI injectors are loud.

You said it was a walmart oil change before. Changing oil weights and filters can change oil pressure. I went from shit tier fram filters on my durango to wix and the oil pressure changed.

As long as you are running 20psi/1k rpm you are entirely safe. Overfilling it though, you can blow out your seals. The min/max lines on the dipstick are usually one quart.

Seriously the first thing that i'm gonna invest in when i get an MS6 is a cold air intake: http://cp-e.com/webstore/product/mazdaspeed6-xcel-cold-air-intake/ and a new exhaust system http://cp-e.com/webstore/product/mazdaspeed6-3-ss-dual-cat-back-exhaust-system/. Air intake so i can let the turbo breathe better and as much as i like the stock exhaust system, this 3" catback exhaust is so free flowing and i want to hear the sound better.

i'm assuming you're worried about hydrolock? with this kit, i am a bit worried about hydrolock because it sits right in front of the F driver wheel and there's only a plastic vented cowl seperating the two. but then again, when has it ever rained in california?

Nah, legality. Plus it's going to end up being a daily driver.

Oh shoot, i forgot about that. It needs to be 50 state legal, and there's nothing related to 50 state legality anywhere on the webpage. stupid california, having such strict emissions laws. but my daily driver protege has a 50 state legal k&n air intake and it still passes smog. as long as you have a CARB number for it in CA, you're good.

Exhaust wont breathe that much better without a header. Headers are a huge difference and should be the first thing you do.

I need TuV legal now. Or to cheese it and legalize it here and say "no, give me the inspection sticker because the government says so."
