Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

10 over, wow, what a crime xD

My instructor (also my aunt, so she was a lenient af with me, she knew I already knew how to drive anyway) couldn't care less when I was doing 60 on a 50 xd

I honestly don't understand why instructors insist on making learners drive at like 20/30 (or maybe the learners don't have the confidence to drive any faster, can't blame them). You're never going to that in the real world, and it's a whole lot more dangerous to be going so slow.

You probably have the same shitty CD4E I have, even my good newly rebuilt one from Jasper isn't a great trans. The programming in the PCM is poor for them and even once updated it's still poor. Whole trans is a flop but since I replaced mine (slipped into neutral a few times and a few times got stuck in gear and stalled the car), I'm going to drive it till rust claims it.

Yeah? I've got suspicion that it's been rebuilt or replaced as most of the front end has been. It drives really nicely and quickly too actually. I just want to keep maintaining it, hence why I wanted a new filter.

Finally doing a little on my car detailing today, re-hydrated some of the bugs off the front bumper and mirrors and buffed out some scratches in the drivers quarter. I need to get some more Meg's Ultimate so I can go over the whole car and cut out the more noticeable scratches and smooth the edges on the ones I can't take out, well don't want to take out as I'd have no paint left. Some scratches are OK, car is nearly 20 years old and the paint up front is rough anyway. I'll be happy once it's all detailed, my dang toe has made it impossible to crouch without pain until now and prior to that it's been to hot in the garage to work even with the door to the house open.

Can’t Put a portable unit or window unit in your garage just for when you’re in there? They work surprisingly well even in not too greatly insulated rooms. Not perfect but waaay better

It's been in the mid 90's with very high humidity, I've got no where to vent the heat from a portable AC unit. My dehumidifier I used to run in the garage when detailing broke last fall and I haven't replaced it yet. I don't work in air conditioning so when I got home on those days I'm just too exhausted from the heat to do anything but rest in the cooler house. I made some progress, it's more about starting it so I have to finish it, I just hadn't really started and the foot and heat stopped me dead. Also some anxiety about using the new buffer, but it works a treat with a finishing pad and some meg ultimate, no swirls and takes down the scratches well enough for my old car. It'll look much better when I'm done, I already have a sequence I do that leaves me swirl free so it's just a matter of doing that again and watching it drink up the light out in the sunshine once more.

Doesn't sound like good practice if the instructor is instructing you to do illegal shit :P

Also why only next year?

The mid engined corvette looks promising, can't wait for reviews. And how on earth is Chevy able to sell them for 60k a pop? This is madness...

Because they're not done building them when they roll out of the plant, the first few years (like most GM products) are consumer testing to finish the R&D which then will be applied forward to later models in the line and then retroactively applied as needed to currently owned models. ?

I know this is probably a very stupid question, but I've been wondering for some time just what this switch does. I was told it adjusted the illumination of the dash, but it doesn't do anything.

It changes the position of the headlights, if its not doing anything then the motors are most likely broken.

Go to a garage or wall or something. Park in front of it , put the lights on (u must be like 3 - 5 meters from the wall) and try to adjust it and see if the lights moves up or down. Of they don't move at all its broken. Depending on the frame of the lights , sometimes it is possible to put in the bulb a bit off and make it spread light incorrectly.
