Wait for next flagship, or SLI 1080 Ti?

Hey guys

 

So I'm currently planning out my new loop after upgrading and am currently using an EVGA 1080 Ti FTW 3 edition in my PC. I was thinking about getting a 2nd if I can hunt it down and watercooling it. 

 

Or wait til april to see if the rumours are true and try to hop on the xx80 series of Ampere or whatever the next gen is?

Just a month away and with current card prices, waiting would be better IMO

I have two 1080 Tis, both watercooled.  I give it about 6 years before I need to upgrade, assuming neither fail.

knowing how nvidia works, theres probably going to be a Ti after a few months too. hmmm

No, there's a Titan a few months after, and then a Ti almost a year later.

Seeing how they're changing things up releasing a volta titan and not having a "Geforce" branding with it, I wonder if they will follow the old way.

I always figured it'd just be an oddity in the Titan lineup given that people will actually fork over the dough for a GeForce Titan. We could see GeForce and non-GeForce Titans in the future, like we are seeing with the Titan Xp and V, which is what I expect, but I wouldn't even call that an educated guess.
