I'm planning on buying this, but I need to upgrade the storage to a 500gb ssd. I'm confused on the type of m.2 ssd that I have to buy. Does it have to be nvme to work?

it can be nvme or sata m.2. depends if you need the speed and willing to pay more. i'd just get a sata m.2, its cheaper.

welp, fair enough. doubt you'll see the difference between the sata m.2 and nvme tbh, unless he's writing/reading files constantly.
