Jeroen1322

Even though I don't have one of the "current gen"-cards, I assume you can't adjust voltage anymore, but you can only set the "Power Target".

Which is quite a pitty IMO

Are you sure your card isn't voltage locked? Did you change the "unlock voltage control" in the MSi Afterburner .txt file and enter the EULA?

Also make sure you are running the most recent version of Afterburner, both my card and my friends 780 were voltage locked in the pre 3.0.0 beta 16 program we used. Working fine after that upgrade.

That depends on what card you have for example if you have a windforce cooler then the voltage is locked but something like an msi twin frozr would be unlocked

How do i unlock it in the .txt and what .txt file exacly?

Step 1. Make sure you're running the latest version of Afterburner to include support for the latest GPUs, among other things.

Step 2. Go into your MSI Afterburner main directory and locate the CFG file titled "MSIAfterburner. Open it with notepad since you'll only need simple word processing functions.

Step 3. Scroll down (or use the search function) for the following input fields and enter the values after the "="

UnofficialOverclockingEULA = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it

UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1

Then click "file" and "save" before exiting Notepad.

If you're using an Nvidia GPU you can stop after you save, but there is an additional step if you are running an AMD GPU.

Step 4. Go to your start menu and do a search for "regedit" without quotes. The path you need to follow is given below, with the final folder being {4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Make the following highlighted changes, save, and reboot your system.

And you're done! Voltage and overclocking control should be unlocked.

That card should have changeable voltages but I'm not positive

If I were you I would just make sure I have the latest drivers and if it still doesn't work after that then I'm not really sure

Sorry to bring back a dead post but I just cant get the voltage slider to unlock. It's just ridiculous! I 've tried everything. I am using the beta 3.0.0 MSI AB, and my GPU is an HD 6850.

This is my setting for my 7950 Vapor-X. If your card come with dual BIOS, try switch to other BIOS.

Trixx works. Also Asus GPU Tweak, but I want to use MSI Afterburner as one. Then having to use both.
