I have a 2012 HP Compaq desktop PC and i'm wondering what my processor is (downloaded AMD thing even though I don't have AMD gear and it relabeled cpu cant seem to fetch original cpu name) can anyone help me? Task Manager reports a base speed of 2.90 gigahertz, one socket(that may be how many CPUs you can fit in the motherboard though) and one core. the L1 cache has 128 kilobytes and the L2 cache has 1 megabyte

reported same thing. did any 2012 compaqs have AMD Sempron 150 processors?

The Sempron 150 dates back to december 2010, so it's more likely that your PC is a 2011 model with a 2012 production date. That's pretty normal.
