I'm all for responsible GMOs, but I think there's an issue when glyphosate (active ingredient in Roundup) can be found inside plants before consumption.

https://globalnews.ca/news/3379799/nearly-30-of-food-products-contain-residue-of-pesticide-glyphosate-cfia-report/

Please explain what residue from an external herbicide has to do with GMOs, because now you're blending two separate things into one. Something being GMO has zero correlation with whether or not it has glyposate residue on it.

My recommendation for a milk alternative is silk soymilk (most similar to milk for me, works in coffee and tea) or if soy is an issue, some almond milks are good too.

The glyphosates were found inside the plant after being sprayed. Glyphosate would normally kill all plants using the chemical pathway glyphosate stops. Monsanto engineered the soybeans to be glyphosate-tolerant, but the issue is that the glyphosate is stored in the plant without excretion or decomposition from the plant.

Guess I'll look into that when the time comes. :P Thankfully I don't really drink much in the way of milk so it's not something I have to really get into.

soy milk is my bread and butter, i love it

except ones with literally 0% sugar content, if you added a gram of sugar for every 500 ml I'd be ok, just don't have 0% sugar

At least I can get it pre made at like Taiwanese street stalls for 30 cents

Yeah, I sometimes wish I haven't found several great ice cream alternatives, I like to think I would be healthier (probably not lol). I mostly drink medium quality H20 mixed with CO2 and whatever they put in "Natural Flavors"

I drink the Walmart brand flavor waters as well. As far as normal water I prefer Ice Mountain. The spring they use is here in Michgian, and tastes a hell of a lot better than the shitty Detroit river water my city uses. If I wanted a little water with my chlorine I would just drink out of a pool.

What is your exact concern with glyphosate? If it's links to cancer, then I can tell you that currently the conclusion is it does not. IARC announced that it caused cancer but it was revealed last year that they ignored data from a study that had yet to be officially published which showed zero correlation between glyphosate and cancer in humans. It should be mentioned that one the IARC members part of the decision/announcement was one of the co-authors of the study, so it's not like they didn't know about the data. The EPA has also recently announced that they have not found a link between glyphosate and cancer, also contradicting the IARC decision. IIRC the FDA's position is that it probably causes cancer at some dosage, which in reality means they don't know and are just going the safe route till they can conclusively determine whether or not it's carcinogenic.

Don't really care if it "causes cancer" or not. I DO care if the product isn't thoroughly tested by the company themselves. Monsanto has a board member and leverage in every avenue of publication meaning no studies can be done without getting blocked or blacklisted.

Quote

One of the victims of their campaign was French toxicologist Gilles-Éric Séralini. He did exactly what Monsanto should have done. For two years, Séralini dripped Roundup into the drinking water of laboratory rats and fed them glyphosate-laden, genetically modified corn. What he found was alarming: Some of the animals developed kidney damage, while the females developed breast cancer at remarkably high rates.

When the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology published the study in September 2012, all hell broke loose in Séralini's life. Hundreds of researchers protested and Séralini was accused of making "false statements" and "using animals for propaganda purposes." The journal withdrew the publication in November 2013. It may have been a coincidence, but the magazine had appointed a former Monsanto employee to its advisory board six months earlier.

Here's the retracted paper: https://ac.els-cdn.com/S0278691512005637/1-s2.0-S0278691512005637-main.pdf?_tid=0c32d636-096c-11e8-af8f-00000aab0f26&acdnat=1517722210_6299087e4daa5e2fb48ad1f45ee7909d
