EVGA PSU G+ vs G3?

I’m about to order a new PSU

 

can anyone tell me the difference between the EVGA G3 and G+ models?

I do not believe they have G+ model. Do you mean G1 800 Watts 80 PLUS GOLD?

As for G3, I believe those are SuperNOVA models.

Basically, the G3 is the newest model, then older one is G2, and after that G1.

 

Edit: In general, the more later the model, the better protection and power delivery.

G1->G2->G3 And there's also GQ series. All of those are also called SuperNOVA.

All these mentioned above are 80 PLUS GOLD certified. Hence the G.

Not really responding to the question, but why would you want so many watts?

@DacobiTo answer your initial question: the G+ MOST LIKELY is not much better than the G3 model.

And as the G3 model is very good already, and probably cheaper a little bit, you can buy it.

Though in your place I would look into Corsair as well. Specifically the RMx series.

8700k + 2 1080ti will need 850w to be sure. Even when not overclocked these can already pull 600w at full load.

 

I'd rather have the Corsair RM850x really, or even 80+ Platinum rated units like the Seasonic Focus+ 850 Platinum or EVGA 850w P2. They are about 20% more expensive with better efficiency, which you'd want that when the PC is pulling so much watts and dumping some of these power out as heat

What are your system specs?

 

I've got no info on the G+ as it's so new.
