i really like Manjaro, but it's based on Arch. i would recommend against it as a first distro. only use it if you have at least a bit of experience with the terminal.

Elementary OS, hands down. At least, if you like minimalist design, which I do.

Any distro can be beautiful if you install the right desktop and tweak it right with themes.

The only thing preventing me from making my desktop absolutely glorious is the shitty 1080p tn panel on my cheap laptop.

yeah, they have their issues. but the alternatives are not that great either. KDE has theming inconsistency, and the others are too lightweight for me generally...

which desktop do you prefer then..?

Cinnamon. I tried mate too but it looked so outdated like it was from the 1990s and I’ve mess around with unity on Ubuntu and that thing is the polar opposite. So much colors and such heavy themes that it looked just overly bulky.(which can be backed up by its vastly larger size and ram usuage)

Kde is is not as pretty as cinnamon when same themes are applied.

KDE has theming inconsistency? I'm not sure what you're talking about.

What settings? KDE has more options for eye candy than most DEs.

Did you set the GTK2 and 3 themes to Breeze? Some distros do that by default, some don't.
