Yeah, but look at the prices. I'd rather run a 900 series card and save 700-1000 bucks.

Edit: Just learned MC was US only, so yahhh.*Crying intensifies*

Yea, they are insane. The crazy part is these will all probably be sold out by EOD. I recall buying my Asus Strix 1080Ti from this same Micro Center about 2 months ago and it cost me 847.62 out the door.

this MC does offer a BYO discount which means they will discount any PC parts marked BYO down to MSRP. So people can still build and get a 1080ti at MSRP.

Those prices are insane.  The retailer should be ashamed..  I'm in Ontario Canada and local stores here just got some stock of RX580's 4GB is $449 CAD, 8GB is $529, GTX 1070TI is $759 and 1080 is $849.  Prices aren't great but not that far out of control.

I do Z cash like 450 hash rate, that's pretty good, 1070 is just a tad better, but power is way better on a 1070 and it can mine other crypto better- faster

but power where I live is pretty cheap so 70 cents USD a day to run it around the clock.

Yeah and mining on it, it will break mid-2018 LOL.

I have a 980Ti as well, thought about mining on it, but I just don't want to burn up a perfectly good card too soon. Planning to keep it for a while .

I looked it up the chances of burning out your card is much more rare than you would think. I will roll the dice on a <1% chance of killing my card

Hey, if you are comfortable with it, go for it.

I don't see the point myself, don't need the money and don't like wasting electricity, so...

Problem is if it DOES die, you'll be paying $1000 to get the same gaming performance again at current prices.

And if crypto drops in price it could take longer. Just remember that when you are using your card hard in mining and electricity costs

yep, I pay 70 cents power a day and make about 4-5 buck usd a day pre power. honestly it is just sort of a fun little hobby, I would never invest more in it but I feel like, "hey I got the GPU may as well make some money."
