Cryptomining. There was such a high demand for cards for mining purpuses that they are out of stock everywhere. I have heard people coming in stores ordering over 50 cards at once. I live in a small country and the supply was low to begin with. Im lucky i bought my gtx1080 prior to this ive seen them go 2nd hand for a 100€ more than what i paid for it new
