Cropping display

SamuelJE

Hi Guys.

I’m working on a mod at the moment, but because of the nature of my dilemma I’m putting this in the display forum. I have been building a gaming pc inside an older iMac from 08, but I can’t get a display the right size for it, so I’m thinking I’ll put one that’s a little too big for the display cutout in there and attempt to crop to fit. Is there anyway I can do a software level crop to reduce the size of the output display on the monitor, avoiding the edges being cut off? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Thanks!

You could do a custom resolution with your display drivers and set the monitor to show it centered 1:1 most likely.

Hmm' the display is still wide screen though, is there a software level way to crop what area of the display is used?

Go to NVIDIA control panel under Adjust Desktop Size and Position, select "No Scaling" and "GPU".

Then go to Change Resolution and set a custom resolution to whatever size you want.

Ah! Magic! Thank you. Is there possibly anyway to enter a custom resolution?
