What to choose in s-ata controller cards?

I have a home server, and need a controller card for S-ATA HDDs.

In total I need new ports. I don't need RAID since I let Windows 8 take care of that.

And I don't need all 8 at the beginning.

Here in Norway the selection isn't that big, which manufacturer is the one to go for: HighPoint, Promise or Sunsway?

Is it a problem of going with 2 card with 4 port, than 1 with 8?

Sorry for the few off Capital letters in my posts, it does it on its own when I Write in English, since my OS is in another Language. It's annoying.
