Samsung UHD Tv Turns on by itself

Hi

I recently bought a new Samsung series 6 4k uhd tv. But I am having issues, when i turn it off 1-5 min later it turns on by itself. Has anyone had this problem? Is there a solution? Thanks

Is there a ghost living in your home with you?

Maybe check the TV's settings to see if anything is on auto-turn on or something.

My old Samsung had this issue. But it was a model from 2008. I would unplug it overnight and the issue would go away. Except it would resurface every couple of months. It's basically a hard restart without erasing your settings.

Do you have any devices set to operate through CEC? Or maybe a wireless connection is waking it up.

  • 1 month later...

I had this issue on an older 1080p TV after an unexpected power outage.

Is it plugged into anything that supports CEC?

Also, if it's on Ethernet, if anything on your network is pinging it, it may wake up.  As an example, I can send WOL packets to my Samsung and it turns on.  I'm unsure if it's specifically responding to the WOL packet or because it just see's ANY kind of packet aimed at it's MAC.

Plug TV into power bar. Switch power bar off at night. Problem solved? Obviously that's not ideal, but frankly, I would contact Samsung Support over this.
