Built own computer; room smelling of thermal paste?

Alternatively, is it possible your'e mistaking an electronics smell for thermal paste?  A new build will tend to smell for a while in my experience.

Hey everyone! I built my own computer last night and used the thermal-paste included with my L9i; after placing a pea sized amount on the CPU, I closed it off and put it away; after I completed my build though- I noticed my room had an overwhelming stench of the stuff. I tried ventilating my room but the smell still lingers and seemed to have dissipated into my clothes, bed, and laundry as well; has anyone else had a similar experience- and if so- how did you get rid off the smell?

Is it possible you got a bit on your fingers and rubbed near your nose?  That would explain why everything smells like it :P

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

Admit it, you were snorting thermal paste hoping it would get you high, and now you're learning with your nose what we all learned with our thumbs: that shit never cleans off.

Never put it in the same draw as you keep your eye cream

Although MX-4 is a surprisingly effective and delicious toothpaste.

Yes, this definitely sounds like new parts off-gassing. Does thermal paste even have a smell? I just smelled my MX-4 and I smell nothing.

Definitely the fact that it was a new build. 3 days in now and the smell has gone; thanks for the help!
