I'm building a $1000 dollar system and the above post has a lot of crappy deals in it.

Check out Techworld, they have a ton of 8GB ram kits that are closer to $80 dollars.

For the rest of the system use pricespy.co.nz to find prices on hardware, trustworthy companies include Playtech, ComputerLounge, AlphaCity, Techworld and others I can't remember, any shop with a photo on the price listing is trustworthy. You can PM me if you want some help.

I don't think that a k series i5 is worth the money at all in New Zealand, you could possibly get an i7 for that cash. If you drop the k series you can also cut the motherboard price in half meaning an i7 is definitely in there.

If you've never used an SSD before you could probably get a cheaper one and still be impressed.

With the case I personally don't think the budget Corsair cases have a point in existing in NZ because we get boned on the pricing. Plenty of cheaper cases that will do just as well and be super cheap.

The power supply is good for the price, might be able to find a better deal though.

If you want I can plan a full build.

http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/p/2i0Sl This is what I came up with. OS not included. Went with that mouse since I dont know your preferences. If you went water cooling it would add on so much that you couldnt get as good of a GPU. $7 over budget.

That is a really nice build but your choice a cheaper card a 770 or a r9 280x don't know which is better and maybe a h80i and maybe a fractal r4 for the case. Thanks for the help! And the pus maybe gold or silver 80+

Plan the full build please

Intel i5 4670k: $319.96 AlphaCity

Corsair H60 v2: $125.24 Techworld

Gigabyte GA-Z87M-HD3: $185.94 AlphaCity

Patriot DDR3 1333Mhz 2 2x2GB Gamer Series RAM: $83.74 Techworld

Kingston SSDNow V300: $127.51 AlphaCity

WD Blue 1TB 7200Rpm: $83.63 AlphaCity

Powercolour R9 290: $609.50 Zcom

Fractal Design R4 White/Transparent: $199.00 Playtech

Corsair CX600M: $125.24 Techworld

Windows 8.1 64-bit: $147.04 AlphaCity

$2008

CM Storm Quickfire Rapid Blue: $121.41 Techworld

Corsair Raptor M40: $84.76 Techworld

$2214

Note I've used Techworld for a few items even though it isn't the cheapest, that's because Techworld handles things like water coolers and mice extremely well, I've heard horror stories from other places such as AlphaCity that while other parts are good some people have gotten damaged periphals so you're spending like, $6 dollars in some spots for security.

I can say confidently that this is what parts will be in any build, people might be able to spend a few hours on it looking in depth into it but I've been planning my own pc for like the whole year, I know my stuff so I can sort the good stuff out for you. Everything was chosen with performance price and prettiness involved.

The motherboard is black, the cooler is black, the ram is black, the psu is black & the case is white giving you what I think will be a freaking epic look especially with the red highlight from the 290. If you wanted to, buy some white LEDs from Techworld and light it up a little but that's personal preference.

Think he meant maybe headphones or speakers or maybe it's a typo and he only meant to say a... He hasn't replied to this topic so I assume he's given up waiting for us which would be pretty rude cause I did that build at like 2 AM

For mice there are a lot of choices, and it is dependent on how you hold the mouse: claw/palm/fingertip

http://pricespy.co.nz/category.php?k=379

Here is a list including a mouse I would choose:

http://pricespy.co.nz/list.php?l=111136&view=m

I didn't include a CPU cooler, but there are a lot of options to consider, you could just wait for another payday and grab something really nice like this:

http://techworld.co.nz/thermalright-silver-arrow-extreme-multi-socket-cooler-p-44728.html

Current rig: i5 4670K | GTX 670 | Asus Z87I-Pro | Silverstone Strider Plus 600W | Custom mITX case | Seagate Barracuda 3TB | Samsung 840 120GB | G430 | CM Storm Quickfire Pro - MX Red | LG 21.5"
