Will it run games in QHD?

There's gonna be a pre-built PC on sale tomorrow:
- Intel Core i5-7400
- ASUS GeForce GTX 1050 Phoenix 2Gb
- ASUS PRIME B250M-A
- Crucial 8 GB (DIMM DDR4, 2400 MHz)

I'd like to know if I could play some games on it with at least medium quality in QHD. My main concern is GPU, I thought about buying at least GTX 1050ti. I don't really play in new games on PC, I'd like to know how will it work with World of Tanks and some older games like The Crew, Watch Dogs, Fallout 4. And maybe something more recent like Forza Horizon 3.

Okay, Fallout 4 is actually a hard game to run. I would for sure recommend building your own rather than buying this Pr-Built. If you have a budget in mind just make a post asking for help.

The GPU will probably struggle in QHD. Even in older titles. A 1050 Ti might do the trick if you don't aim for too high quality

Frostbite (White build PC)

Thanks. I thought about building my own, but I can get this set for about $560 so it will be chepaer to buy it and replace GPU later if I feel like I need it.

Or maybe... What about Ryzen 3 1200 with GTX1050Ti, will it be better/worse?

It will probably be better to go Ryzen and 1050 Ti. The GPU will have a larger impact in games, and if you get a B350 board (they aren't very expensive), you can do some light overclocking to squeeze out some more performance

I may even go for GTX 1060 3gb if it isn't too much for this CPU or is it better to i5-7400 with GTX 1050ti?

The i5 7400 is outdated, not future proof (only can get max i7 upgrade in future) and you can get 6c12t R5 1600 instead of 4c4t i5 7400 by paying a bit more. Get Ryzen or Coffee Lake (not recommended due to Z series mobo prices)

I found affordable pre-built with i5-7400, but if I'd build I could go for Ryzen 3 1200 or Ryzen 3 1300X (because I found it for about +$10). I don't really want to spend much more on CPU, maybe I could go for Ryzen 5 1400 if it's really worth it, but that's all.

You can upgrade the CPU to Ryzen 5 1600/Ryzen 7 1700 in future, Kaby Lake is a dead platform in future while Ryzen can last until 2020 (AMD says)

Ok. Will Ryzen 3 1200 be enough or should I go for at least 3X 1300 or even 5 1400? I think I'm gonna buy GTX 1050ti. Also, will there be much difference between 2400MHz and 3000MHz RAM?

R3 1200. OC it and it can match 1300X performance. Depending on the games you played, 4 cores are enough as well as 2400MHz RAM (however, 3000 or above is recommended as Ryzen loves memory speed). 1050TI is a decent choice, any model from any brand will do since it doesn't need a beefy cooling

Never thought I'd ever hear someone claim that an i7 is not enough of an upgrade but oooookay. x3
