Should I upgrade from my 1070 gaming x to a 1080 founders?

The Third Thomas

So im running a MSI 1070 gaming x at the moment, but I can get a 1080 founders for 250 euros, which is a pretty good deal. I can also sell my 1070 to get money back, to it would almost be a free upgrade.

I'm also planning to upgrade my monitor to 1440p ultrawide, so some extra power would be very helpful.

Is the 1080 founders actually a lot stronger than my current card, or does the custom cooler one provide more power?

1080 will have better performance.

You can also probably(easily) sell your 1070 for more than 250, so it'd be a free upgrade pretty much.

Not worth the money.

In what way? his 1070 can be sold for more than he'd be paying for the 1080. Definitely worth the money, or rather, profit.

free upgrade ? lolll  not even close its more like gtx 1080 price - 250 which is far from free since a gtx 1080 doesnt cost 250$

1080 has ~20% better performance than gtx 1070.

its an upgrade for sure, but like, not huge,

Well then if that's the case, then there's not a reason not to upgrade lol.

i would do it if it's a direct trade, no money involved...the FE kill the added value of the 1080 IMHO...these cards to me at least are worth the same...
