Compatible to mine(anything)? Mining setup(planning)

Just wanna make sure that my components will fit together for a mining rig:

Intel Celeron 3900t

MSI H110 PC MATE

8gb DDR4 2400Mhz memory

60gb SSD

1000W EVGA platinum PSU

2x R9 390 8GB (these i have)

2x rx 470 4gb  / 2x GTX 970 4gb / something else with similar wattage (480, 570, 1060, 1070)

4x 1x - 16x usb riser

stock cooler + 2/fans

PSU calculator says 880W under full load so 1000W should be fine.

Will this setup fit together?

ASUS Maximus VII Hero | i7 4790K OC 4.8GHZ | 4x8GB 2400MHz MSI GTX 1070 alphacool eiswolf gpx pro
Samsung 850 EVO 520GB + Corsair 525gb + 275gb SSD  2TB Seagate Barracuda | 8TB Seagate Archive

Cooler Master HAF-X 942 | EVGA Supernova 1000W 80+ Platinum | Custom watercooling loop (gpu+cpu)

check to make sure that MB doesn't throw a shit conniption when you install more than 3 GPUs.

some MBs do.

as for the GPUs and power draw, i highly recommend tuning them for best efficiency, not raw output.

never too late to mine cryptocurrency.

yeaaaaaaaaaaah, but late then never :) still 5/6 months to get my investment back ( if i get it back) is fine with me (i can wait). And got the parts for a nice price.

From my searches there are people using it with 4x gpus.

careful with ROI. IT's not linear and when dealing with Alt-coins, when BTC goes up, the value of alts generally goes down. If you're going to mine an Alt, i highly recommend doing so as a long term investment, not day to day cash.

my initial goal is to go for the longterm. Since cryptos have a trend to go up in value, meaning my plan to sell them is when i reach the point when my investment will be paid (if ever) + i like to build PCs :) of any sort.

My first experiences were with nicehash( not real mining, well not mining at all :) ). With this rig i wanted to go for eth/altcoin but first i wanted to get some knowledge on configs etc, so i might play a few days with that at the start.

Take a look at the board first, you'll need a splitter since it only has 3 PCIe slots.

Ignore me, I saw the wrong board :)

Great, so i managed to get 2x 570 4gb for a great price, so my mining cards will be 2x 390 8gb and 2x 570 4gb. The 570 are the same ones, but the 390s are different one is Strix the other is Nitro, will that make some issues?

nope. has no bearing other than out of the box oc's, which if you were a smart miner, you would undervolt them to get the best hash/w possible for your selected algorithm.

390 strix is already undervolted and memory OCed for equihash ( i think, that was what i found out works) and because of temps + power consumption, fan curve also set to go for the most silent operation. The rx 570 will arive friday. So i have to do the same with them.

go for cooling over silence if you can help it. A mining rig should be headless, and out of sight anyway. use RDP to manage it if you can.

RDP is the plan, i am planning to put it outside and since the winter is now coming in my country the cooling should be fine. (humidity buildup already solved, airflow too, waterproofing/dust proofing and resistance against natural causes also solved, planing to put it into a box with filtered fan holes+fans, under roof so no rain, humidity buildup will be solved by dehumidifier(a good one)) Power cable will go to the rig and internet will go through wifi.

Dumb or smart?

i would still run the fans at 100%, but everything else sounds good. not too dissimilar from my own set up, though i am using 1070's.

The fans, especially on the strix are so f-ing loud that it's unbelievable. I have a 1070 in my personal rig, mining with that too when I am not using the pc or just watching movies/Internet browsing. And it's water-cooled, super oced and Max temps are 42*C in a room that is 22*C :D I am kind of proud about that!

200mhz on the clock and 750 on the memory oc.

Thanks man for the help, if I my ask how much do you mine per month? And is it too naive to think that I will get my money back in about 6 months? (electricity is veeeeeery cheap where I live)

At about 2 weeks into my 3x1070 1x1080ti setup, i've got 7 ZenCash pool mining at zhash.pro with EWBF's miner.

zen is at 19.85USD at the current moment, so rough estimate i've made $120, but in reality it's less thanks largely to the high network fees of Bitcoin. it just doesn't pay to withdraw to Fiat until you've amassed a lot of coin, otherwise you're just socked with fees. hell right now i don't have enough BTC to even initiate a transfer because the network fees are higher than my balance...
