Apparently they do, though IDK about your specific model: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-gaming-15-ak000-notebook/8610971/model/9062859/document/c04907875

I have a HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook - 15-ak007tx. Does it have an M.2 port. If yes, which interface is it and can I install Windows 10 on it?

After doing a quick google search I couldn't find any information on it having an M.2 but the best way to find out would be to look up video guides or to take it apart and look inside

Acording this I will be able to install M.2 SSD as well. Can I trust these 2 results and buy one? Taking this laptop apart is very difficult, so i will go to a technician to install the M.2 SSD. I have taken the laptop apart in the past and I don't want to do it again as it was a very difficult process.

You can probably install a normal SATA SSD just by removing a hatch, so I'd do that. An M.2 SATA and 2.5" SATA drive have the same performance, just the M.2 costs more and is smaller.

For that I will have to remove my internal HDD, which has data on it. option of having 2 drives is good. Since SSD is expensive so I will keep a small SSD about 128 gb only for OS. and the HDD for games and data

What he said ^^^ AFAIK there's no SSD out there you can't  install an OS on, except for Optane SSDs, tho I think you may be able to run an OS of those as well.

Thanks for your reply. Somebody specifically mentioned that OS can only be installed on NVME based m.2 drives but not possible on sata based M.2 drives. thats why I asked

Huh. IDK what they were on about then. The point of SATA M.2 drives is to run an OS. NVMe ones are targeted more towards video editors and others moving massive files. For running an OS or day to day use, there's little difference between an NVMe and SATA SSD.

Eh the picture does not really mention anything about that slot being a M.2 slot, and M.2 slots are typically PCIe 4x, not 1x.

5 hours ago, Zando Bob said:

According to this link, from the pictures in it, it seems that the laptop should work with PCIe M.2 SSDs, given that the slot is 'M' keyed. And it should also work with SATA M.2 SSDs, since the SSD in the pictures they used at 'B' and 'M' keyed.

That HP Pavilion Power laptop you got has a M.2 connector, but it only works with SATA drives not NVMe.
