Nvidia Teases Another Titan X: Titan X Collectors Edition

Nvidia released a video on their YouTube Channel today teasing a new product. It is very fast but if you watch it in slow motion you will see this frame that shows a Titan X collectors edition. Obviously no way to know yet how it’s different from the Titan Xp, but it appears to have RGB lighting.

The 1070 ti is not locked one bit, Nvidia just doesn’t allow them to be factory overclocked.

Will this nonsense ever come to an end? I used to be an enthusiasm about the TITAN line up, I owned a Evga Superclocked TITAN X maxwell and that thing was a beast it made sense card as we had 1, just 1 TITAN to be the generation's king, I liked it but ever since we got in Pascal line up we're heading the 3rd TITAN card? all stupidly over priced and getting "obsolete" within months, fuck that... even I who'd accept the $ for the "exclusivity" realized this was too much.

 

Getting the 1080 Ti was the smartest thing I done, will only replace it for the GTX 2080 Ti , will never buy another Titan card any more, only x80 Ti's

Uh no? Intel does not factory overclock their CPUs that doesn't turn something like i7 7700k locked just because it is up to the user to take matters on hands.

The majority of people buying dGPUs will likely not overclock them.

 

If you buy a CPU and want to overclock then you need to buy a CPU with an unlocked multiplier and overclocking capabilities.

The same is not true for GPUs.

What are you talking about? I think more people overclock GPUs than CPUs because the gain is higher with GPUs.

Not letting board partners overclock 1070Tis is probably making them furious. Consumers can't enjoy better clockspeeds without overclocking cos poor Nvidia couldn't manage to find a better way not to cannibalize GTX 1080 sales.

I suppose that's bad for Mac users without MSi afterburnet? just because there is no factory OC allowed, which don't get me wrong that's stupid sure, no point in a hybrid/water cooled card that has the exact same specifications as the lowest blower type end card but then again that does not turn the card locked as you boot up any overclocking utility and there you go, OC happens.

I'm not defending nVidia, you're just wrongly claiming the GTX 1070 Ti is locked, it isn't, you can overclock it at will, that's a fact.

 

Not allowing Factory OC is a different fact, which I just said it was stupid/shitty of their part myself... so much for trying to make me look like a fangirl lolz...
