Is The Corsair CX650 A Good PSU?

Niko Papasta

It's a decent budget unit. For $10 more, you could get the TX550M, which is a better unit. The CX650M should be a bit quieter.

Honestly depending on where you shop and what deals are available when looking, you can find PSU's much cheaper than 105$ 0,o like @seon123 said, its fine for a budget unit, but there are other better options you could find at more reasonable prices.

I'm gonna go with NO.

A CX PSU is meant to be a budget PSU. If you have more money you can spend on a PSU then I'd recommend spending more money on a better PSU.

My RM850i for instance (which is somewhat overkill in the wattage department) is incredibly quiet, efficient, reliable and great.

An RMx 650w unit would be great as well.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

well, i have a RM550x, and am very happy with it.

never used the CX, but it is a budget unit, and you can get more quietness, efficiency, and probably reliability if you spend a bit more.

also, do you need the 650 watts?

Depends on your system specs. Also, the CX650 is bronze-rated.
