Upgrading PC need some help

kiemo

Hey,

So im looking to upgrade my CPU,Motherboard and Graphics Card.

Current System:

CPU: I5-4690k

Mobo: MSI-Z97 Gaming 5

GFX: EVGA Gtx 970.

RAM: 8GB Ddr3 Vengence PRO

I have a budget of about $1000 AUD.

I heavily game at 1080p and i Do some heavy workstation stuff (video editing, CAD Rendering).

The reason for upgrading is that my pc is starting to show its age in some of the newer titles and just looking for an overall upgrade.

REMEMBER AUD

Thanks!

Honestly In terms of gaming, your CPU is still fine, you could use an upgrade to your GPU and maybe some more ram though

For workstation stuff, you might want to look more at ram and CPUs. I don't have any recommendations though as I'm still on a older i7-4770k, 16GB ram and a 1080Ti.

Well your cpu is still good enough for modern title and the GPU is actually still capable..

Idk what u mean by show it's age...but a GPU upgrade would do..something like GTX 1070/1080/Ti would be a great upgrade..or find a used i7 4790K and pair it with one of those GPU.

agree, i still like How Haswell performs

Xeon E3 1231v3 (buy one used if you fan't find it new, should be around 150$) I have it and works great. Also, 16GB of RAM will also accelerate your workloads.
